Pioneer & Broadcaster

Master KE Wen

From 1982 to 1986, Ke Wen studied French and English at the University of Yunnan. From 1986 to 1992, she worked with the Traditional Chinese Medicine Institute of Yunnan and improved the practice of Qigong and traditional Chinese medicine. During this period, she traveled several times to France to accompany and translate teaching activities of Chinese medicine in France. In 1992 she decided to move to France to transmit the treasure of traditional Chinese culture.

In late 1992 Ke Wen and her husband Dominique Casays founded the center of Chinese culture «Les Temps du Corps» that will become the most important Chinese culture center in the country of the language of Molière or even throughout Europe. For over 20 years, Ke Wen and «Les Temps du Corps» organize many major events to promote the development of Chinese culture in France and strengthen Franco-Chinese cultural exchange.

In May 1994, despite the difficulties and hard work, they organize the first international conference of Qi Gong in partnership with UNESCO, with the support of the Office of the State Administration of Chinese medicine from China. This is a very important event that marks a new stage of development of culture of Yang Sheng and Qi Gong in France. More than 1,500 people at the Auditorium des Halles shared this historic moment and Professor Zhang Guang De from the Beijing University of Physical Education was the guest of honor!

How to explain the success of these two events, while the Chinese culture and medicine were little known in France, and then in China all the energy was focused on economic development and western culture?

Ke Wen generation, in a China undergoing rapid changes, did not receive an education of traditional culture. The thought patterns are then further developed those in the West. When she received her degree in French literature, her destiny led her in spite of herself to the Chinese medicine studies and the practice of Qi Gong.

On the occasion of two study trips to France, as a professional interpreter, she really became aware of the importance of Chinese medicine and physical practices for health, wellness and spirituality, for those living in modern society. She was also impressed by the passion of the French people for the Chinese culture and medicine. She thus seize the meeting and communication point between these two cultures: it is through this awareness of the mind-body unity.

Ke Wen and Dominique Casays then develop the relationship between these two cultures and present a living content that resembles the knowledge and practice. She firmly and deeply believes that culture is without borders: she is a response to the essential questions of society and human beings: health, vitality and spirituality in the prism of the concept of mind-body unity.
The following year, Ke Wen organized the first «National Days of Qi Gong», on 20 and 21 May 1995 in the Great Pagoda of the Bois de Vincennes with the presence of Europe’s largest Buddha. The event is covered by many newspapers and media, among them the main French TV channels. These days have marked a new period of development of Qi Gong in France, one can say that they are the beginning of the history of Yangsheng culture in France. The «National Days of Qi Gong» became one of the important events in France to promote traditional Chinese culture and are organized successfully for 22 years, with a different theme each year, throughout France in more than 170 cities and regions.

In 2003, during the Year of China in France, « Les Temps du Corps » has actively participated in a series of Sino-French cultural exchange large-scale activities. During this period, the center organized a two-week festival around the five elements, which attracted 2,500 people. Meanwhile, the center organized a photographic exhibition in Shanghai in city planning exhibition hall on «The Fire of dawn – Shanghai impression by French artists”.
Ke Wen is also active for many years in China to show her successful experience of dissemination of Chinese culture in France. She organizes many traditional Chinese culture transmission activities in China, with the hope of sharing the success of intercultural communication and collaboration. To mark the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and China in 2014, “Les Temps du Corps » celebrated 20 years of cooperation and exchange with Qigong Hospital of Beidaihe in Hebei Province by organizing the first Franco-Chinese research meeting on Qi Gong. Then in 2015, they organized jointly with the Shanghai Qigong Research Institute the 13th International Scientific Symposium on Qigong.

In 2014, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Sino-French diplomatic relations, the Centre Les Temps du Corps and the Beidaihe sanatorium’s cooperation also entered its twentieth year, to celebrate it they held the first China-France Qigong seminar in Beidaihe. On this occasion, Ke Wen led a team of a hundred French students, leaving a permanent mark in the history of the development of Qi Gong and friendship between China.

In 2015, Ke Wen and Les Temps du Corps organized under the auspices of the International Health Qigong Federation the 2nd World Health Qigong Scientific Symposium, held at the headquarters of the French National Olympic Sports Committee. It marked an important event in Chinese culture and obtained support and help from all sectors, including the French Ministry of Sports, the Cultural attaché of the Chinese Embassy in France, the French federation “Sports for All”, the French Federation of Chinese Traditional Medicine, the French Qi Gong Teachers Federation and the City of Paris.
The event brought Qigong academic and scientific research to a new height and has had a profound influence on the international community.

Trainer & Educator

Master KE Wen

Ke Wen firmly believes that the quintessence of Chinese culture can be summarized as a life culture that links health to the full blooming of human beings, while answering modern questions on how to balance human development with ecological needs and how to inscribe a lasting personal development within that context.

For Ke Wen, this body culture needs to go through spirit and consciousness and, therefore, be grounded in teaching based on open and clear objectives. Pioneers are necessary, but also a teaching staff and, most importantly, Chinese masters who practice this wisdom in their own lives. All these years, Ke Wen has never ceased seeking such teachers to bring to France as experts and masters who walk a path similar to the one delineated by Les Temps du Corps in its training programs in order to build together an intercultural path of Chinese culture transmission

For over twenty years, Ke Wen has completely devoted herself to teaching. She has been ceaselessly supervising professional training schools and programs all year round, including week-end and summer sessions. All these schools and programs are based on the same in-depth research and have integrated the progressive enrichment that comes from teaching and experience.

Ever since the first professional training program in 1995, Ke Wen has never stopped the process of deep reflection about the content of her teachings, thus bringing to them a teamwork educational fluidity that has become the hallmark of Les Temps du Corps training programs. These schools and programs have gained national recognition and have developed a unique style in order to better respond to the increasing needs and demands from the French and European publics.

One of the central highlights that have contributed to the success of the Temps du Corps professional training programs is the inclusion of a trip to China at the end of the students’ cursus, so that they may directly and immediately experience the thousand year old Chinese culture. The choice of location, meeting of masters as well as the content of the practice is always deeply and carefully thought out.

So it is that on can find all over China the footprints of the many students whom Les Temps du Corps have brought to China : Beidahe, Jiuhua Shan, Wudang Shan, Qingchen Shan, Emei Shan, Wuyi Shan, all places highly charged with Chinese culture and nature. These travels have greatly contributed to a real French and Chinese intercultural exchange and to the deepening of friendship between these two peoples while simultaneously furthering the economic and cultural development of those same places. These trips also enable the French students to experience authentic teachings from Chinese masters within their own surroundings and cultural environment.

Researcher & writer

Master KE Wen

By developing fully the Chinese culture in the West, she never left her in-depth research on philosophy, thought and meaning of life. From 1982 to 1986, while following her French literature studies, pursues her goal to be a writer, an artist who works in the field of human consciousness, seeking answers in life. Destiny brings her to the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine where she studied acupuncture, massage and Qi Gong for six years, and became a professional interpreter in these areas.

She belongs to the Chinese young generation of the late 90s who dreams of reforming, opening mind towards Western culture. She tries to marry these two contradictory aspects of appearance: the study of a traditional ancient culture, make sense of its inspiration to the today’s world. She realizes that cultures need to talk about this question of life, consciousness and health. It is the dynamics of these two components, apparently opposite, which leads her to achieve the success of her approach: Cultures are enriched and come to feed societies, and by her action that she can combine them and make them fertile. Her living teaching is always a positive response launched on the concept of unity, fundamental concept of Chinese thought.

In 2009, after 15 years of teaching and research, she publishes her first book «Enter the practice of Qi Gong.» This book, reprinted five times, a great success, binds to this lively and poetic reading of Chinese culture. She clearly and simply outlines the basics of the practice of Qi Gong and its benefice in modern society. Her method «The 20 essential movements of Qi Gong» became one of the most practiced by the French people.

In 2011 her second book, co-authored with Professor Zhang Ming Liang, «The path of peace: wake up for meditation and Chinese wisdom,» allows her to assert her stature as the researcher of Chinese thought in Taoism, Buddhism, Confucianism and Chinese medicine. To make accessible the understanding and the practice of this thought it took no less than four years of research to both authors. An innovative book that found a deep resonance from the French public and intellectuals, with more than 15 conferences and debates after the release of the book.

In 2015 she published her third book with Dr. Liliane Papin: «Treasures of Chinese Medicine for today’s world.» This book provides the understanding of Chinese medicine at the body level, emotions and psyche. Indeed Chinese medicine is an ancient wisdom, an ecological medicine that better meets our modern day concerns and prevents disease.

These three books are the foundation of her teachings and develop innovative pedagogy in the transmission of Chinese culture and medicine in the Western world.
